Will GM sending units work with Autometer gagues? (Oil/Fuel) - 2 questions..

Autometer lists the analog 100psi fuel and oil sending units as the exact same part number. I can get a hand full of these sensors for nothing and was wondering if they were compatible with the gauges

AND

if it was safe to use the GM ones with oil AND fuel.

USE A GM 90 OHM SENDING UNIT WITH THE AUTOMETER FUEL GAUGE
