Default 1995 V6 Accord: I'm stumped!

So I own a 95 V6 Accord EXL. 2.7L 170HP engine, automatic; not that fast a car. I want to do something to it to make it nicer; a new engine, a turbo, something. Problem is that there is no turbo for it; I would have to custom make it. That's about 10k. What about an engine? A V-TEC V6 engine that I could fit inside a 95 Accord? Almost IMPOSSIBLE to find. So the most I'm able to do to that car is headers to cat to exhaust, and a cool air intake. Should I just sell it and get another car? Or should does someone have a way I can put some TLC into it and make it beautiful? Please help.

As far as i know there are very few options as far as modifying your current engine go. I have not heard of anyone swaping a different V6 into your generation although it wouldn't surprise me. It sucks that it's an auto too. If you really do like the 5th generation though I would hang on to it. Possibly swap a H22 into it (not sure about mounting issues though cause I know the v6 engine bay is bigger than the standard 5th generation one.)

your going to be spending a lot of money to make your car faster. If your desire is a fast car, i wouldn't try it with this one. You will be spending more money than you think. i would suggest you get a better starting point.

That's what I thought. I was thinking maybe getting a 300zx instead, but I can't find any close by for 5k.

Hey, I was looking it up for a bit; how about I slap a supercharger on it? I mean it's not like I really have much of a choice, I've done some good work to it, and it would be a waste to just sell it when I haven't truely finished. I'm not looking for A LOT of horsepower, just enough.

On another note; what about swapping this old non-vtec engine for a newer one? Maybe an 00 or 01 v-tec v6 from the newer accords? I think that would make a world of difference with the supercharger.

i dont' know much about V6 swaps, but i can tell you that someone on the accord board (i forgot who) sucessfully did a manual transmission swap(out of a legend i think)

This swap is probably the most feasable thing you could do to improve performance and the first thing you would want to do before moving on to bigger things.

Even if you find a car for 5k, you won't be going fast. Going fast and remaining reliable will not be cheap no matter what car you find.

I'd suggest just staying low until you get a job that can help you pay for the big toys.

Good luck.

I looked it up; seems as though I can get the Legend engine to work. I think I need to go with a 94-96, the 97 might be a squeeze. Just took a glance on ebay and found some for only 700 bucks! I think I know what I'm gonna do now, thanks guys!
