Need some help, negative coil wire?
I got an msd 8950 rpm switch for my mini-me (I know I should go obd1) to activate vtec. I traced the rpm signal wire (blue) to the back of the cluster and tapped into it to run it to the msd box. Problem is, is when I do this my tach stops working. So Im either tapping the wrong wire, or the msd switch is bad.
The MSD says to attach the signal wire to the negative coil, did I hook it up in the wrong place? Where is the best place to tap into this wire.

the negitive coil is inside the dizzy. not the blue one thats for tach only. it's wht/blu wire inside that hooles onto the ignitor and coil.
i'd run a wire from the screw on the coil (easyiest to get to / find) and run a wire out side dizzy and do it that way
