Will an EF hatch regulator work on an EF CRX?

i just swapped drivers side window regulator on my hatch and the part numbers are different. I was told they were not interchangable - but keep us updated on what you find.

 

im pretty sure there all interchangable cause i remember my friend using the power regulators out of a 4 door ef for his crx.

 

I know for a FACT that they are interchangeable from CRX->Hatch and Hatch ->CRX. I have a CRX regulator in my Driver side door, it works quite well actually, but it does not roll all the way dpwn, it leaves about 1" above the weather strip. The reasoning for this is the CRX wondows are shorter than the hatch, and require less movement to fully roll down. The hatch regulator will work in the CRX as it willbe able to roll all the way up (the hatch regulator is taller in full extension, but at half or 3/4 should work fine), but should arrange for a full retraction within the door itself.

 

hey guys i know this thread is a little old but seeing it is getting harder and harder to find oem parts for a crx as most are not made anymore i was wondering, what would be the best option for replacing a driver side crx window regulator. its a 1990 si and the window is stuck in the up position after fighting to get it to roll up 3 inches one winter day never had any problems with it before this. i cant find any on ebay, no luck on crx part outs on craigslist and well the parts discontinued at honda so no luck with them. here is a little video of what im working with and no the handle is not stripped out it took it off and vice grips spin around and around as well.
so a few things how should i go about removing the old one, and if the springs mangled swapping it over to a different ef regulator may not work the window bar is all good so swapping that over will be fine. or if anyone has info on where to get a 90 crx si driver regulator let me know.
