So I got my swap done a few days ago. Everything was great but it was kinda stiff going into 3rd and 5th. So I have heard that means sumthing is not right with the shift linkage. Well last night I tryed to go to 3rd at like 7k rpm and it gave me some trouble going in. And then right after that the clutch felt really weird. It was stiff and engaging very close to the floor (stock clutch that came with the swap.)
So I went back to the parking lot with a few friends and let her cool all the way down. Then I let the car warm up and drove home. On the way home it was fine for a few shifts and then it was doing the same ****. Grabbing harder but not smooth real close to the floor. And it didint want to go into any gear now but it would. So I get to the light before the expressway and it wont go into any gear at all now. The clutch is doing the same **** and everytime I try and get it into 1st the car starts to move a bit. So i roll into a parking lot. Let out on the clutch and try again. It goes into 1st after a harsh pedal feel and i just throw it into fith and cruise home. When I get to my driveway, I need to put it back into 1st, and it does the same ****, then i let out on the clutch put it back in and then everything felt normal again. Shes sitting in the garage, cause im not gona drive her untill I fix the problem. Im just not sure what the problem is. Any help?

What usualy happens when the clutch master cylinder goes bad? The clutch is engaging real close to the floor and is all jumpy. And also how do you align the shift linkage or whatever?

Also, i had the same thing going on with my 240z and it turned out to be a leak in the system.

You might see clutch fluid inside the car where the MC mounts to. Could be the slave cylinder as well, but most likely the MC or the clutch itself because of the pedal feel your experiencing. Did you make sure the stock clutch that came with the swap was within the service limits?

No we did not. We figured we would take a chance as the motor has like 22k miles on it. And just replace it if need be. Ill check for fluid and such

Yeah the clutch should be fine at 22K, I'm just thinking of all possabilities.. Even if you don't see fluid inside the car by the MC it could still be bad. Its gotta be that somewhere your losing pressure. Oh and make sure to only use DOT3 or DOT4 non synthetic brake fluid because synthetic (DOT5) will eat up the rubber seals..
