Default Running Synthetic in Motor/Tranny

I know alot of people are happy with running Synthetic in their engines..
But what about in the tranny? anyone ever tried this?

Royal Purple SAE 5w30 for engine / SAE 10w30 for Tranny.

think it would be a good combo?

by the way this is for a USDM ITR engine/tranny.

NEVER use synthetic motor oil in honda trannies.
either honda MTF, penzoil syncromesh,
or my favorite, GM syncromesh Friction Modified.

Never use motoroil in any tranny, transmissions needs different type of oil and different characteristics than the engine.

lol....

For a long time honda recommended 10w40 engine oil in the trans. Engine oil specs have changed, but honda MTF is just 10w30 oil (75w80 gear oil equivalent) with a few additives in.

MTF or synchromesh is fine for street use, but for track use then use a good, synthetic gear oil - there is a synthetic synchromesh at about $12/qt, and I have been using Motul Gear 300 for the past 2 seasons on track.

i ran pennzoil 10w30 in my 2000 Si tranny for 150,000+ miles. no problems.

however now with the new ITR tranny i'll just stick with honda fluid. **** it.

Well I do have some Redline Lightweight shockproof synthetic gear oil in my garage I was going to use in my old N/A RX-7. On the bottle it says 75w140. Is that too thick for the honda tranny ?
