Which cluster fits in 89 CRX?
Which cluster will "fit" in a 88-89 crx better a 99/00 Si/Sir cluster or 94-01 integra?
I no in the 94-01 integra cluster fits nice in a 90-91, but I heard the 88-89 is a little different
any tips would be great

no real difference in the EF clusters..you're going to be doing some hacking either way. it comes down to how well you know how to wire

88-89 and 90-91 are not the same nor are the guage hoods...

Very correct, virginia_dude. The 89 CRX you have will have to have the plugs rewired to make it work with a 90-91 cluster, as well as the CRV/Teggy/99-00 Civic clusters. From my understanding the teggy and 99-00 Civic will fit nicely as long as you maintain the clips from the one you are installing (I think the 99 USDM Civic Si looks sweet in an EF). You will need to remove the factory metal brackets to hold the cluster in place, and get the 90-91 cluster cover to place over the newer cluster. I have the instructions printed somewhere, but check that link above, I think that is what I have printed out.

But its sweet...9,500 reading tach and no boy racer guages to catch the theives eyes.

i said no real difference. its not like i'm comparing an integra cluster and crx cluster.

considering my whole car is converted to obd1 wiring will not be a concern...., so can I just put a 90-91 cluster cover in my 88-89 dash and then use a 94-01 integra cluster and call it a day?
Regardless if the operating system has been converted, the OEM gauge cluster would not have changed. You need to rewire the clips before popping in the newer cluster. No Exception.

AND use an electronic VSS. I swapped a USDM ITR cluster in my CRX and found it pretty straight forward. I used an excellent wiring chart from Blueintegraboy and soldered all connections to the clips and made my own brackets to mount the cluster. Now I have a 10k tach redline for my B18C1.

the GSR cluster will not fit under the guage cover that is from an 88-89 car..you need the 90-91 cover. plus all th ewiring.
And like I said..I have a '96 cluster...and nobody had an accurate wiring diagram up on the net when I did mine...and they all were different...

considering my car is using a h22, with a complete obd1 civic harness the wiring is not really a difficult issue, I was just mainly concerned with "fitment" thanks for the input guys
