Anyone running omnipowers? (91 civic si)
I already posted in the suspension forum, but figured I'd ask in the car specific forum. I put 215's on my autox wheels, and they rubbed at a hard turn. I'm installing Omnipowers over the winter, and the are lower, but much stiffer. I'm wondering if lowering it but at the same time dramatically reducing body roll will help, or make it worse??
Here's a pic to help illustraight how worn my 144,000 mile OE springs are.

I like the tein SS's. but lots of guys on here run omni's with only praise for the quality. I have noticed them to be a little bit stiffer then teins too.

Someone needs to be fired
I've personally driven on a CRX w/ the Ksport coilovers and loved it (and I actually have those coilovers on my wrx
). Similar in price but with more features and IMO it seems of better quality.

omnipower sports on my 91 si. No problems and still working perfectly. They greatly reduced body roll and the car handles so much better

It's a yugoslavian Civic model, it's YDM. That's how they all came.

OMG...You have to be kidding me. This is not the first car I see like this, and i'am like, "how the hell did they do that?" ****, how am I gonna find one of those sunroofs now?...
Hey at least your inside rear wheel is still on the ground.
The point of lowering the car is to reduce body roll. Stiffening the springs is a less effective way to reduce body roll. Both have their limitations. Don't lower the car more than 1.75 inches from stock, and don't choose spring rates good only for ideal road conditions that cause you to quickly lose traction and skip across the road surface in real life road conditions.
If you're learning to AutoX, just keep the car stock for a long time and learn to drive. Learn what's allowed for each class, and decide which class you can compete in. Then piece your suspension together one thing at a time so you can experience the effect of each modification.
If you want to plant that rear end, the best thing you can get is a thicker front swaybar. I would go with an uprated OEM bar for the front. Later get an adjustable rear swaybar from Progress, it's the best on the market and it's cheap. After you've reduced body roll significantly with swaybars, make sure you're running the best tires you can within your class. Then go with some bushings, front and rear upper strut braces, a good racing seat and harness, and then go for coilovers in that order. By the time you get to the coilovers, you should know which custom rates you want. If you get Ground Control you can get custom rate Eibach springs for them. Pair that with Koni's; or Illumina's if your budget is limited. But again, all this is ignoring the class rules for autoX which are going to restrict your choices.
