Default Front Door Speaker Adapter Bracket

I just bought a set of JL Audio component speakers and the speaker frame and magnet are too big to even fit in the stock plastic basket even if i cut it.

I was looking at Lucid's adapter kit, however i tried calling several times and no one picks up. Im not even sure if they are still in business.

What has everyone done about using true 6.5 inch speakers on our doors when the stock basket cant be trimmed enough for it to fit?

are there any other places i could purchase a adapter kit so it bolts up?

thanks

My work made a wooden baffle for mine. It looks fine, carpeted.

I used Infinity Perfect 6.1 components and had to cut out the back of the OEM plastic baffle for the midrange to fit. If you say that magnet is even bigger, then I guess save them for the S pods and use smaller ones for the door.

Local shops should be able to build MDF adapters for $20-25 each. I'm using the Lucid adpaters, but have no clue if they're still in business. My Oz Audio 7" front speakers were WAY too big for the stock mounts even if I had done serious trimming. The 6.5" fronts are worth a bit of extra effort.

Get true 6" and they will fit perfectly. Not 6 1/4, not 6 1/2.
