Default stainless steel brake line coating ?

I recently purchased a set of techna-fit SS brakelines for my 93 civic ex. I thought they were one of the brands with a clear coating to protect the SS braiding from wear/dirt, but I was wrong. Has anyone tried putting their own coating on New SS brakelines? I was thinki9ng of possibly using the "liquid electric tape" at home depot(more commonly used for dipping the hancdles of pliers, etc in to give them a rubber coating). My only thought on this is that the coating would obviously not be clear, so i would have no way of visually inspecting the SS braiding. Any thoughts, suggestions?

the ace hardware by me sells tubing you can buy whatever diameter/length you want.

just go to a hardware store and see if they sell this tubing, probably near the plumbing department. then get enough clear tubing that will fit over the lines.

you might need a way to seal the ends of the tubes to the lines so that if there is a break you don't leak fluid all over the place.

I did this on my mechanical oil pressure guage so that oil won't get into my cabin area of that plastic tube breaks. for 4 feet it was about 3 dollars.

good luck

Not sure how weather resistant you need it, but clear heat shrink tubing would work well if you got the right heat range.

I got mine straight from their website http://techna-fit.com/
As far as clear tubing goes, I'm trying to find something that fits tight around the line, and it seems the size I would need to clear the end fittings would not be snug at all, once in place(unless I'm misunderstanding you). I didnt realize there was clear heatshrink tubing- I'll have to check that out- again hoping that it will shrink enough to fit tight over the braiding.
