RC51: Single or Dual Exhaust?
I own a 2003 Honda RC51. There are no modifications as far as the motor goes, but I am looking to upgrade the exhaust. I am aware of the necessity, and wanting to ad a more free flowing air filter, and also a computer upgrade, but the exhaust is going to be first on the list. What I am looking for is looks, style, and performance, but still with a lower price tag. My thoughts are the Yoshi, titanium, or a Jardine set up. Now on to my question:
What are the advantages/disadvantages to the Jardine 2-1 exhaust pipe?
Just to clarify, Jardine makes an exhaust that routs the two pipes into one, and then exits on the right side of the motorcycle. Also, for my riding preferences, I am a novice at best; I enjoy the curves more than raw speed, but can be tempted on either. Any info would be helpful…

whats up man I wouldn't run the jardine system if you read sport rider they had an RC51 that had the Sato slip-on's on it and when they switched to the Jardine system they lost power. If you are looking for the best exhaust for the RC51 it is the Sato Slip-on's and the sound that the bike makes is just unbelieveable.
I really don't want to sound like a cheapscate, I would love a SATO, but the crx that I drive is barely worth what those pipes sell for new.....
i vote Yoshi. They've got good sound, quality, and a reasonable price.
My friend had Jardine's on his RC51, they sounded great, but i think almost any exhaust on an RC51 is going to sound bad ***. He bought the bike that way, so couldn't tell you about performance. I'd get a PCIII next, i hear they make a huge difference on the RC51.

Don't get the Jardine 2-1 system, it might put out a little more power than stock, but it puts out way less power compared to other slipons. You may save some weight by getting the 2-1, but that's about it, plus with the Jardine, you will need to re-pack the can often. Top 3 choices are:
Sato (if you want total performance get the low mounts, otherwise Banzai's all the way)
Moriwaki
Yosh
Sato is the best and produces the most mid range (all around useable) power, Mori's are a close 2nd but don't put out quite the same amount of power as the Satos. Yosh is the best "bang for the buck" pipe. Stick with the stock filters, don't bother with the K&N or BMC filters, you'll lose power. PC III USB is a must, even if you have stock pipes it makes a difference.

If you are concerned with performance at all, check out http://www.rc51.org and look through their dyno comparisons on the 51's slipons. They have just about every combo you can think of with dyno charts to back them up mostly performed my dan kyle racing.
I really appriciate the opinions on the matter, I was looking to combine both performance and price, but I don't think those two things go very well together.
I ended up looking at the RC51.org site and was impressed by the numbers the SATOs where putting out, but 1500.00 compared to 950.00 for the yoshis. This is truely a hard desicion........

If you are cost-conscious, why buy an RC51 anyway?

I really don't understand the question, but to buy the exhaust and the powercomander would equated to 20% of the total value of the bike. Money is always tight, and frivolous spending is a luxury for only a few of us out there.
I guess I am looking for the exhaust that has the most bang for my buck!
Witch is why I am considering the yosh.......and not just taking out a loan for the SATOs, my prefered purchase.

Sounds like you just made your own decision. Yosh it is.
Just don't change your mind after you've bougt the Yoshi's and then decide you want the Satos, it happens quite often lol
Mmmmmmmm Sato goodness mmmmmmmmm yummy.
