Default 1994 Integra GSR - is a cheap *** turbo kit with expert installation worth it?

Ok, I have a 1994 Integra GSR with over 100,000 miles in it. I got it for about $4,500. I am not some Punk Rich Asian Kid... Im just Asian with parents, so I don't have a lot of money to throw at my car. I'm fairly new to messing around with my car too. I have brother's who mess around with cars, but they don't have enough time to help me out in any way. I was wondering if I can buy some cheap *** turbo kit like this...

<A HREF="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo-Kit-Civic-Acura-Integra-B-series-SI-Intercooler_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitem Z8004405856
" TARGET="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...856
</A>

and put in

AEM V2 Cold Air Intake
Greddy Evo2 Exhaust

Will this setup work? Or do I have to do lots of other modifications that'll be rediculous enough just to buy a new car? I was like thinking... If Im going to spend like an extra $3500 more for the upgrades... I'd rather just sell my car and use the money to down for an Infiniti G35 Coupe... but that's just me. And if anyone knows a Mechanic here in Las Vegas, Nevada who'd install a turbo kit, that'll be cool too. And lastly, if the Turbo kit sucks, can I just settle with an AEM V2, DC 4-2-1 header, and a Greddy Evo2 Exhaust? Thanks

u cant use the aem v2 with a turbo cuz a turbo uses a chargepipe from the intercooler to the intake manifold

first off use the search engine. next that kit SUCKS *** its one of those chrome ones off ebay. yes theres other stuff you would have to buy like better fuel management and ignition if your gonna go above like 300hp. By the sounds of it you need to read up on turbos.

in the Vegas area i think theres a shop called LDL but not sure, and YES you could usa a CAI as charge pipes with some modification.

this is the only time that 'cheap' and 'turbo' should belong in the same sentence

Do NOT buy a cheap *** ghetto turbo kit like that. If you can't afford a real kit, don't boost your car.

Read... and when your done with that, Read some more. You simply cannot get a solid reliable Turbo setup for 1k.

Do your homework, if you read ALOT you may be able to pull it off for around 2-2.5k, thats if you either learn to tune or get someone to tune it for free. Turbo projects always cost more than you expect though.

If you decide to persue it, piece together a setup, don't go with a cheap ebay kit.

I figured the Turbo kit was cheap ***, but yeah, thanks for the opinion. But I guess, if I'm going Turbo, I think I'm just going to get the Greddy Kit with an Intercooler, its freakin' expensive, but what the hell... But for now, I think I can settle with an Intake, Header, Exhaust setup first. I read so much turbo information, I figured to just ask questions instead. Sometimes lots of people with fixed up cars go to Sonic's fastfood at Flamingo Street in front of Palms every Thursday night. Maybe I can get info there as well. Anyway, if anyone has a 94 Integra GSR that upgraded their car to Turbo, kindly post the mods.

Did you know Honda-Tech has a Forced Induction forum? There is plenty of turbo-related discussion there

I'm actually piecing together a super cheap kit with some ebay parts. However its not one of THOSE nasty kits. I saw that on there and for the same price I've pieced together one with brand name parts like revhard/greddy. There's always someone on there who's bought a kit and then wrecked their car before they put it on. Read some of their other listings. You know when it tells you it's not "made in cave" that it was probably "found in cave".

I say build your own kit, its not that hard. Then spend what you saved on Hondata, or emanage.

Thats what I'm going to do sooner or later.

Don't get e-manage. My friend's ls/turbo setup ran like garden slug. Then we took that out, and chipped his ECU for uberdata, and made a custom map, and it ran great
