Here's the deal, I put a ceramic dc raceheader and did the spark plug defouler trick so the CEL wont turn on. It worked for like a month. then the CEL went on. So then i called acura if the reflash would fix this problem but then they said they need a diagnostic to trigger what the problem is and it'll cost me $90 , but im pretty sure it is the raceheader because its not running on any cat and the 02 sensor is reading a lot of waste.

Is my engine gonna get messed up if im running with a check engine light on?would a reflash fix this problem?If it is, which reflash?

 

you don't need a reflash. just scan the code and see what is the problem. Don't go to Honda/Acura. Go to Autozone, they scan it for free.

 

Whether or not you should be drivin depends on the code you pull.

 

I have a types with the same problem.All you have to do to get the check engine light to go off,assuming it throws only the 02 sensor code because of the race header is pull the ecu fuse from the car for 5min then put back on.The check engine light should go away.To turn off permanetly get kpro.Also I read on clubrsx this code will not hurt the car while driving with it on.

if u put a race header on and used a spark plug defefouler to get rid of the CEL and a CEL came on shouldnt u already know what it is? Obviously its gonna be the 02 sensor.

Get Hondata K-Pro and u can disable that CEL and dont have to run any kind of defouler or 02 simulator.

 

oh and i hope u got Energy suspension motor mounts cuz with that race header, engine rock will break apart ur flex pipe then u gotta replace that.
