Time for me to get back on 2 wheels.....
My previous motorcycle experience has been a 98 R1 and a 00 R1. Havent riden in about 2 years, except for some friends bikes every now and then for a quick ride.
I definately want a honda, and had decided on a 1000RR, but cant keep the V-Twin RC51 off my mind...
Can anyone give me thoughts, opinions, reviews, etc?
The only other V-Twin I have ridden is the Suzuki TL1000R, and although I liked it, it seemed like a tank. Ive sat on a RC51, and DONT get the same impression from that.
Thanks!

RC is even more of a racebike. It overheats, gets shitty mileage, etc. Plus it's slower by a significant margin.
If I had to have a Honda litrebike, I'd get the 954RR.

I have never ridden another liter bike other than my RC, but what I can tell you is that I love my V-twin. Prior to my RC I owned a F4i, and was a little disapointed with the power and performance. I wasn't confident enough to run out and buy a RR, so I decided to go with the RC. What I have found out about the bike is that it fits my ridding preference perfectly. I love the tourqe, and the ridding position, well is rough, but could be worse.
I get the feeling while ridding that I am in full control and the bike shoots out of corners like a bat out of hell....
What it comes down to is that it is all about prefernces, ride what you like, not what someone on here tells you to......
The pic is just b/c I like threads with pictures, plus she sure is pretty....

They're actually not even similar as far as power is concerned. The RC is more like a 4cyl 750. Apples and oranges.
That being said, I'd get a RC because it brings back memories of the old Ducati/Honda battles and Hayden's AMA reign over Mladin

It overheats in traffic....................because, well it's a racebike and needs to be moving. Just did a trackday up at Buttonwillow, my temps never got above 190F. So there is a work around to that whole heat thing
Everything else you said I agree with, and it is a freakin tank, takes some work to move that b*tch around

That would be a tough choice for me as well. I own the 1000RR and have had many other inline 4s as well but the sound of the RC makes me happy in my pants :D. I wouldn't want to part with my RR because it does just what I want it to do as far as my preference to tracks but I would love to have an RC for corner carving. I guess it's really up to you but the RR is going to outrun the 51 but the 51 has styling and history on it's side. I guess it all depends on what you want.

Both of those bikes make more power than my car.
