what bushing in this pic would fix my problem of having a lot of play in the shifter while in gear?

and ive already replaced 18 and 15

Did you replace with stock bushings or aftermarket? Is it a stock shifter or shoft shifter? If you did the "shift" bushings you might want to look at to much play in the plate holding the shifter. If the shift assembly has alot of wear on the bulb part of it that can lead to alot of play as well.
This has happened to me before. I replaced #13. Remove the end from the trans and see how loose it is. It should be pretty stiff. If not I say replace it.
same thing happened to me after a short shifter install...#14 was coming loose where it bolts to the trans..check that too b/c if it comes all the way off you wont be able to get into any gear and thats really shitty when youre on the highway

Bingo!!!!!!!!!
mine has tons of play in it.. i love when i have someone new in the car and im driving, I'll be like "OMG, my shifter is broken and its stuck in gear. HAHA.. " works everytime.
but ya.. #13 needs to be replace.. the joint on that rod just before the tranny is messed up and old..
But ill keep driving mine.. still works.. no point in buying something that isn't completely broken. I'm used to it now.

i doubt thats got alot to do with the play since the have to be hammered in. #13 on the other hand gets play in the yoke or u-joint.

wow, really think its the whole linkage? wel, there is 103K on the tranny parts, so maybe it is. i will have to take it off and get a god look at it. when you say remove the tranny end and see how loose it is, what is goin to be loose on it? what am i lookin for?
and its a stock shifter with after market bushings.

in order to take the bottom shift bar out you need to knock out the pin with a punch, a good way to tell is to have somone move the shifter side to side while you are under the car. look for the u-joint for play one side should move a little before the other.

i think im goin to repalce the pin first just cuz id rather start cheap than spend a ton of money, especially if it fixes it. if it doesnt, then i'll move onto the larger parts.

Fixed my problem, but it is always different.
Jack up car securely, have buddy wiggle shifter, observe from underneath... FIX

it's a bitch to get the old one out and a new one in. it's nickname is "bitch pin"

ok the pin has nothing to do with it wiggling.. the pin is only there to secure both ends together..
the U-Joint (or whatever you wanna call it) is what is messed up.. there are spacers in there that minimize the play.. I guess over time they just come loose and fall off.. which gives the shifter that play you are talking about..
it'll still work fine.. nothing is going to fall off and break. and that U-joint is attached to the whole rod, so that whole shifter rod and U-joint need to be replaced at the same time. bushings have nothing to do with it. I put in new poly bushings thinking that would solve my problem.. it didnt, but did feel tighter. The U-joint is just old.. remember people we are talking about cars over 10 years old.. just comes with the territory.. either spend the cash and replace, or just have fun with it and ignore it.. I dont even think about mine anymore.. it seems normal for me to drive.. but others dont like it.. but they dont get to drive. so aint my problem.

lol yea, exactly what I was going to say... you don't want to mess with the bitch pin if you don't have to... I definately spent a few hours hammering on that ****.
