Complete 4gen Leather Interior Swap (Katzkin kit)
Hi guys, here is another post about leather interior for 4gen. I bet many of the luders out there also wanted leather so bad just like me. Plz share some of the info with me. After couple months of search till last night I found out that there is something called Katzkin kit. I contacted the dealer, he claims that it is not those aftermarket seat covers. It is actually a brand that many car dealers use for a option of leather seats/interior.
Let me clear this out, maybe many of you might know this, but I didn't have a clue. Katzkin is a brand that car dealers give a car that DOESN"T have factory leather seats With a OEM look of leather interior. Which means they make those seat covers that just look like OEM.
You have many options with this kit to custom your interior, but I just want to stick with oem. The price is not really high rather than I expected. The dealer told me he might be giving out a group buy like around 600. It includes both front seats, rear seats, door inserts, and even CONSOLE!! I'm really surprise for this, and I doubt it, but this is what it says. Here is the site, http://www.katzkin.com (the pic you see are generic pics)
I'm sorry for another long write. Anyways, really wanted to know if anyone here had any experience with that. I've been waiting for luck to come for someone parting out their leather. Well, now here's a chance to get it brand new. Will the look, comfort, durability the same as oem? Or should I wait for a real swap? Oh yea, I've seen many different versions of leather for preludes, all are not bad, but can anybody show me how really OEM looks like? I know it has a sub woofer opening on the rear console. At last, I heard models after 93, the seats are slightly higher. Please feel free to correct me, because I the visibility I have now is really low. (been expecting a little bit higher in later models)

i saw that dude from "TRUCKS" install katzkin seat cover [wasnt really a seat cover, more like a skin replacement] , it looked really nice, i have tan leather seats in my SE, want pics?
truthfully id look into another company for leather kits. ive seen a couple kits that katskins make and the leather isnt all that great. best ones ive seen so far are from classic soft trim. alot of the local car dealers use classic soft trim instead of having it port installed. its cheaper than stock but the quality is good if not better. not to mention they probably make a killing since its cheaper than stock.

I also had the same seats. 95 Vtec, same color, anyway those seats love dirt. And those are stock seats not Katzskinz or whatever they are called. Personally I'm not a fan of leather, it wears easily and doesn't really grip you in the seat as well as cloth. just my $.02
