Default Whats The Blue Box Under Driver's Seat?

Im helping a buddy of mine with his project Civic. The other day when we gutted the interior we came upon this box under the seat. We have no idea what it is. The car is a Civic DX if that matters at all. There is a plug that attaches to it. Cant seem to figure out what it does though. Anyone know? My CRX doent have one that I noticed.

No Im sure that it is stock. Its made by Mitsuba and has a plug in it that is OEM Honda that runs into a wiring harness but that is just so full of crap its hard to tell where it goes or what it does. The box is about 5.5" long by 3" wide and 1" high. Its blue in colour and sits right in the middle of the front where the driver's seat is. There is a 10mm bolt holding it in place bolted to the floor of the car with what looks like a stock bracket. There is even a hole in the carpet that looks like its an OEM cut out so you can remove it.

Wicked. Thanks. I stepped on it when it was out of the car and I thought that it might of been something important because I cracked the case. But since its going from auto to manual I dont give a ****. Ill add it to the pile of random crap to toss out like the blue interior, D15 motor, auto tranny etc etc.
