Default Gains and Problems

I have a few questions for you techies.

Best intake manifold setup for a mini me swap, z6 head, would it be best to run a z6 intake? or my a6 intake with a new FPR?

Also what are the risks of using a vtec controller to change the vtec crossover?

Yeah that is what I plan to do. At first I plan on just getting an Apexi VAFC but then I heard that there were risks in messing with the vtec. Does it put strain on the engine having vtec engage at a lower rpm then stock?
