Default How do I remove factory radio from '02 S2k?

As topic states, I'd like to remove the factory radio to install a line out converter and an amp.

Does the part of the dash around the radio need to come out first?

Will I need those litte metal hooks Im seeing for removing factory decks?

I've searched everywhere for this and can't seem to find any answers. Thanks!

Yes the whole dash housing has to come out, it is a pain, it would be easier to get the signal for the LOC off the rear speakers, http://www.installdr.com/Insta...5.pdf this is the the removal for the 99/00 Civic, they don't have anything later, but it's much the same, but more work on yours, you may get away with just going as far as getting to the bolts that hold the assembly in place, [steps 9, 10 and 11 for the 99/00] You may have to remove console, but if you can get to that point, you may be able to unplug the harness from the HU, then you wouldn't have to remove the dash assembly.
Can you post a pix, maybe a little lower, like the one at the beginning of the PDF I linked you to, of your car? 94

It is not a pain at all. Pull the folding door out. Its easy with the face down and using it as a handle. Be gentle though, there are 4 clips. After that there should just be 4 philips head screws around the radio.
