Flame me.....searched...........still have a question.
Car is a 2000 Si. What happens if I install a Type R ECU (P73) in my EM1?
Will it work?
Will I gain any horspower?
Any benefit?
TIA

i believe in the em1 there is an extra plug for the ecu, the Si's harness i believe can only work for Si ecu's. I know that they are both OBDII, BUT the Si i think wont run on the p73 ecu, if you could then you could run to 9000 vs the 8000 redline. the fuel delivery would be different and might not be to good for the motor unless you have some specs of a R motor. hope this helps
Edit

the top ecu is the si one or OBD IIb. the one under that is OBD II. notice the extra plug in the obd IIb in the middle

It will fit and start if it is a obd2 ecu. You will loose hp and set the cel(not knock sensor) and the engine is 1.6l instead of 1.8l. The air/fuel will be all messed up. Definitely no benefits.

And that pic shows OBD0, OBD1, OBD2A and OBD2B. That middle spot is put there and the one all the way to the right is taken out. Thats how you could tell which is which in the OBD2 world.
Thanks again!

I dont need it at the moment. But when I am ready to tune it, I needed to know what direction to go in.
Thats all.

When you're ready to tune it, get Hondata S200B and don't bother switching ECUs. Why would you ever get rid of a B16A2 ECU?
