Ok...I've been on here almost a year now and finally my first poll. I've asked a few of my friends and they seem to think I'm nuts and totally disagree with me. A carbon fibre hood and a set of Phillips HID's cost roughly the same. I would buy the HID's over the carbon fibre hood any day. What would you buy?
i have both~ coz i think its worth the money for both apprearance and usage
HID gives better visiability and some cosmetic due to its unique color
and the CF hood gives a better handling and cosmetic too~
but becareful with the CF hood~ coz some of them are fxxked up make

The way I see it if you get the hood first you may settle for performance and never get the Hid. But if you get Hid's, which are nice, you will most likely still want to loose weight later get the hood. Although performance first isn't the worst rule to go by. Or you could just settle for a glowing license plate frame.

Once you go HID, there's no going back to regular-old halogens. I can't see without my HIDs now!!!
If you do enough night time driving, get the HID's... if you don't, get the CF hood.

what do you think would help you more? i'm kind of paranoid when driving and the front windsheild is dirty and you can't see that well so if it was me i would go HID's if you can't see it you can't avoid it
For the safety of having HID on the car at night is worth any amount of money and would be my first mod except i have no money...
So make me jelous and get them for your own ***!
Seeing is beleiving!

also hids r lowkey whereas the hood stands out with the blingness, worried about theft, make your mods less apparent, hid

i would love some HID's but then again for the money you spend on lighting you make your car alot more fun to drive with some go fast goodies
I have both.
fiber images hood.
phillips/hells hid kit.
I would do a lighting HID kit anyday instead of a cf hood, unless you never drive at night.....
My cf hood is nice but I actually got mine thru an accident repair, so no cost to me... it saved me $200 actually because it didnt get painted.

I have both as well, and if I had to choose b/w the two, I would take the HID's over the hood anyday. Reason being, I can't stand Hyperwhite bulbs!

I'm glad to see I am not the only one who would choose HID's over a carbon fibre hood.
-Tommy who doesn't have money for either thanks to the crappy Canadian dollar...$500 USD is like $800 Canadian. But one of these days, HID's will be in #531!!!

Seeing good at night is more important than saving weight in my opinion.
I'd go with the hood, mainly because it can be justified from a performnace standpoint (chances are it won't do crap either, but it is lighter).
