Default CAI getting wet.

Anyone every have this problem. When washing my dam car my CAI filter always seems to get hella wet. So I usually have to jack up the car get a bag, put it around the filter to prevent it from getting wet. Then when I am done washing it, same thing jack it back up take the bag off and I am done. What do you guys do?

CAI = Cold Air Intake

I just let it get wet. it gets wet when I run over a puddle, or if its raining, so why worry about the water from washing the car?

i got a cai on my car, still drive in the rain. just watch out for puddles. i bought an air bypass valve but i didn't put it on since it diminishes performance.

a lil water from a car wash wont do anything.

Getting the filter wet from washing your car isn't gonna do jack ****. I get mine wet too when I wash it. Only thing thats gonna be a problem with a cai is submerging the whole filter under water, so as long as you don't drive into a lake, you'll be fine

"benb18a" Cheap bastard, yeah rite on the money, I have a bypass valve for my CAI but I heard to much about losing performance by adding the by pass valve.. thanks for the replys thoe...

the by pass valve can't really do that much? you still have the rest of the pipe to handle the air... just like SRI. i mean can it?

your fine man. A little water is fine.

SO here I am driving last year, when in was raining really hard in cali. Was driving on the freeway, and its ******* soaked out there... I REMOVED my inner fender linder, and still had my AEM CAI. There was nothing separating the filter from right behind my wheel. Water was literally being sprayed heavily onto the filter, I went driving like this for 20 minutes. I thought I was seriously fucked. Got to my destination, was there for several hours, went to my car, started up like a champ.

My filter was beyond saturated! dont worry man, im still running my same motor, runs just fine. Its when the filter is submerged underwater it sucks water in.

you really dont need to worry about it....
the filter has to be SUBMERGED. a little bit of water isnt going to do anything whatsoever. If youre relaly worried, get the air bypass valve.. the loss in performance shouldnt even be noticable... you should be fine without it, but if you wanna be extra safe, spend the 50 bucks and get it...
