Default 93 accord not starting, help!!

ok, its a 1993 accord automatic with the F22A1 engine. It is getting spark, it is getting fuel to the rail, and the injectors are getting a signal.

It ran when we parked it 9 months ago and now due to gas prices we're trying to get it on the road again. It will act like it "wants" to crank when we first start but then just cranks over and over.

We think the distributor went bad. It's got the one with the external coil.

here's the question
we've got 2 1991 accords out back with the internal coil distributor. Can we convert the 1993 over to this type of distributor so we can use them since we dont have any spare external coil distributors???

how can we test our distributor to make sure its not the problem??

Yeah, your 91 dizzy will work on your 93, both are the same obd. as for the problem your having, I would get some of that addative that reconditions old fuel so its usable again.

so what do I do about the coil then?? my 93 has the coil sitting off towards the firewall and I know the 91 has the coil inside the distributor.....

this is what makes me think it wont work.

external -> internal coil

hope that is clear.

spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body and see if it starts,,also remove the spark plugs and put a slight amount of atf in the cylinders ,,,,,,after sitting for so long gasoline becomes like paint thinner and will not fire up ,,,,,,wether it is the problem or not i would advise u drain the fuel tank and put some new fuel in .,

You said yourself that it is getting spark. Why would you think that the disributor is bad? Do what Deserthonda said and drain that bad gas.

that worked! swapped in the distributor from one of the 91's and just jammed a 30amp fuse in the plug and the car fired right up and is purring like a kitten.

so just curious...what does that black/white wire do anyway??

because the gas wasnt bad...we checked that. And because the spark was weak as hell so it was just logical that something in the dizzy or coil was going bad and we wanted to get it back on the road cheap so if we "could" convert to the other dizzy style for free then that gave us 2 spare dizzys to try before looking elsewhere....that's why.

thanks guys!!
