Tinting rear lights good or bad idea?
Hey guys my name is anthony and you can call me squeeky. Here are a few pics of my 1998 accord. Now a buddy was going to attempt to tint his car with super limo tints till another buddy of mine warned him of possible fines. So I was handed down 2 boxes of tints one roll completely un touched. Now as you can see the front lights of the accord are blacked out I was just wondering if I could tint the rear lights as well. I already have the layout cutout so give me some feed back please thanks.

Please note that im 18 low on money and im willing to take my chances just so my car can look cool

i am not sure how your local laws are, but in utah the highway patrol can be pretty picky when it comes to lights on your car. I would probably not advise doing limo tint on your tails, because you still want to be seen. If you have some tint that is 35% or 20% that would be a little more visible. VHT also has some lense black out paint. It is kind of like liquid tint that is black looking until you turn your lights on, it is fairly inexpensive, and it works well. You can always try the tint that you have, all you will get is a fix it ticket and tint can be removed.
You can still see through if you tint with 15% tint... ....that's what I did to my car because the chrome "altezza" tail lights are sooooo gay... ..and that helps maintain a "non ricey" look to the car....

These were chrome altezza taillights, really gay *** looking... I've tinted them with 15% film, and .... have not got pulled over... because at night... it looks great... and during the day.... turning signals and brake light can be seen through the film!!!!

hey sqeeks...
you have a nice car man, I would just leave as is tho. It will receive more attention, but I dont know the rules that apply to your state.

Thanks guys Im gonna leave it as is for now until I find some more appropriate tints. I put limo black on the right tail and it was absolutly black. Break and signal were only visible close up and since I live in the boston, ma you know I have no chance. Im just gonna order the gts tails for it.
thanks again
thanks again

smoke out your tails with tint spray, I did that with my 6th gen sedan and it looks good, and you can still see turn signals and backup lights.(I left the red part untouched) I know of a few people that have smoked out the coupe lights and it looks and works fine as long as you don't go too dark. as for your front lights, do the DIY blackhousings.
You can blackhouse your headlights, which isnt illegal because you're not altering the halogen reflector part, just the housings. This would make the headlights look good without being illegal
