ZC giving code 9: No. 1 cylinder position and runs like sht
I just got done replacing the head gasket in my zc-equipped crx and the ecu is throwing a code 9 and the motor is running pretty crappy and almost dies if I let it run long enough. I did a search and found that it could be my cam timing. Are there any other possibilties.. anyone have any personal experience with this code?
If it just started doing it after you did the headgasket, I would think its cam timing. Recheck the timing marks on the pulley and cam gears. If that not it, then you may have a bad dizzy. If the dizzy was bad, it usally goes into limp mode and won't rev past 3000 RPM. See if you can borrow a dizzy from somebody and try it to see if thats it.
I still think its timed wrong though

if it is DOHC ZC, it is the cam timing - exhaust cam is off one or more teeth - code 9 is cylinder position sensor, which is located on the end of the exhaust cam on the DOHC ZC, not in the distributor like SOHC engines
