Default weirRacing homemade VELOCITY STACKS

these are ingredient #2 for my new prototype intake mani that i'm working on. they are made from solid 3.5" round billet. they have a complete radius at the mouth and a less than 1 degree taper to match to the exact circumference of the intake port. i will be welding them to some pipe that i have to turn the id on to match. i will then be welding a sheet plenum around them. the floor of the plenum will be in line with the step on the outside of the stacks closest to the mouth. if i were to sell some of these they'd cost about $75 each, and that is on the cheap side for a custom vs i think.

nice, to bad you cant make them with a 4" base with a lip cut on the id for it to fit over a compressor housing inlet

If you are looking to sell these i would be very interested. I'd like to see the air chamber addition too. Keep up the good work.

id at the bottom is 46.84mm. that circumference matches the perimeter of the port on the head +.1mm if you have a ported head, i can match it to whatever you want. i really should have made them a bit larger, but i'm not planning on porting my head for a year or two so i'll probably build another manifold then.

by comparison to the $200 for a 4" i think $75 is a steal. maybe i need to rethink that...

i'm lost on the air chamber part... i'm guessing the plenum? can you explain further, i'm stupid.

Well, i may shoot you an Email regarding them... i'd need a tad bigger (like 54mm or so), but that shouldn't be a problem, eh?

Oh, i wouldn't use that price as a comparison, you'll never sell them... LoL. That price is for an Imported and anodized HKS chunk of aluminum... they sell for somewhere between $250-300 brand new afaik... i bought the one i have for $250 a couple years ago. I think you are good on the price of these smaller ones, but if you did do a larger one for turbo inlets, i'm sure your price point would have to be higher than $75, just based off needing to start with a larger and more $$ chunk of billet...

I'm sure you've thought about it, but i'd bet that if you were careful with the cut, you could probably cut out the center of the billet being used for the 4" VC, and use the resulting smaller chunk of billet to make a smaller VC out of... OR, maybe take the very large piece of billet over to your neighborhood waterjet center, and have them cut the center out for you if you don't have the right tooling for cutting out the center of a chunk like that

i can custom tailor them to whatever you want... you can specify id, od, taper angle, mouth radius at the top, if you want a full radius or just a half radius... i can make it, i can even send you an accurate model of what it would look like before i even cut it if you like. $75US each for anything smaller than 3.5" od.

Ooops, i thought you were making like 3.5" velocity stacks inner diameter, so like something that could go on the end of the intake, and then an air chamber that would surround that. Anyway, now that i see you are making a manifold with a plenum and runners with velocity stacks on the end, that still sounds pretty cools. You ever think about selling these manifolds.
