Did I lower my car too much
Ok, Here is the deal, I bought my car recently, however, it was in desperate need of some new springs and shocks. So, I bought 2 1/2 inch skunk2 lowering springs and Tokiko Blue shocks. I also had to go back and buy the skunk2 camber kit. So, I put all of that on to find my outer tie rod was frozen, so...i fixed the inner AND outer...just to cover my grounds. Now, I seem to be having this terrible problem with getting over small bumps...I just want to ask if anybody thinks I lowered my car too much. I think that if they made the springs, then it is not too low, but I guess some people whos cars are trailer queens like to be slammed on the ground, me, I just made the uninformed mistake ( I think) I mean, I really like the way it makes the car ride and look, and hopefully I will one day be able to take it to a track, (NOT the straight track) but...maybe for handeling purposes having my car 3inches (probably more) from the ground is a good thing...Thank you for all of your input!

I personally think it's silly to lower a car that much unless it's strictly a track car. The Tokico Blues aren't really built to handle springs like that and will probably blow in a comparitively short time. Springs that low are best suited to stiffer, more capable dampers such as Koni Yellows.
Really and truly you need to research any product before you go and spend money. Most parts are used to tailor the car to one specific purpose, not just a universal "bolt it on and go" idea.

I've got some koni yellows/neuspeed race springs and they are badass...1.75" drop in the rear and 2.25 in the front
maybe you just need to get used to driving so low? everyone does if they want a lowered car.

Thats not always true, when i first got my coilovers, i kinda guestimated the heights, then when i finally got them on iw as ready to be done for the day, so i was just like 'ill adjust tomorrow' it was tooo low
I got stuck on a 3 inch curb coming out of my garage. Then my exhaust pretty much dragged the whole time, needless to say i got about 20 ft down the road, and came back and adjusted.... outside of the garage b/c i couldnt get back in.
Definetely couldnt go lower.
But reasonably slammed...
Oh, and to the poster... why "a green teg for a blue girl" ?

Yeah when I bought my Da ( koni/GC) it was pretty low. I scraped everything. Just going into normal parking lots was too much.
Basically the Thermal exhuast hangs so low on my car i can't fit a pack of cigs betereen the muffler and the ground. This is at my normal ride height now whcih is about a half inch higher than when I got it.
You gotta either live with it or get rid of it. I found a happy medium between scrapping and Huge wheel weel gap.
_sidenote_ You will run through axles by being lowered a lot. Also lots of excess stress on the whole suspension, but we all need to look good right. Ha Ha

My other car is a toyota 4-runner and going from the big truck to teggy is CRAZY the more i drive teg, the more i learn to angle things and I LOVE HER BEING LOW...and here in a few minutes I will DL some pics I took of her..
I dont think you lowered it too much at all, unless you're planning on driving it in the snow. Then, it's too low for sure!! I have the same springs, but I bought kyb adjustables on ebay for like 280. I dont have any issues with clearance on any bumps. I ran 17s and 15s on this setup without an issue. Swap your struts to adjustable struts and you should be good. You dont need konis either, tokico 5 ways or kyb adjustables will work just fine at half the cost. Good Luck!
