Default ...98 Stolen

Beautiful morning. I woke up to find my 98 R gone from my house. I can't believe this. My f'ing car was stolen from right in front of my own house. I just hope they can find it in almost one piece, but that's probably a long-shot. F Thieves! sorry, just had to vent.
If anyone sees anything from a 98 type-R around on the net (ie. wheels, interior, etc) let me know. I'll get the vin and maybe post that later or something. Car also had JDM front end, would they try to sell that too?
I'm gonna cry now.

I think this is 8 in the last week...and for some reason, it's mostly the white ones. Go figure. All those Civic-driving ********* are looking to upgrade their **** for the new drag-racing season, so watch out, it's only just begun.

And in Oregon too, no less....that just goes to show you that no place is safe. There's what, like 3 H-T members from Oregon? Those R owners in North Dakota better get smart and lock up their Rs...

Yes, the sad thing though is that people shouldn't have to be paranoid about their cars getting stolen or messed with. It's not so much that thieves can take your material possessions, but that they can make you change your life because of them. know what I mean?

8 in a week in a half?!?

The really scary thing is that this number is only a fraction of the number actually stolen. Only a small percentage of R owners are on this site.

Did someone actually use the word 'hype' last week when talking about Rs being stolen. Whoever it was needs to apologise.

this car was, is and always will be special because of its breed. the package comes with, unfortunately, good AND bad. you are absolutely right-we live in a free world where we shouldn't have to be paranoid...but we can be vigil. if you own a type r, then you know what to expect-positive and negative-often more so than any other popular car out there. the terrible thing is, this first gen type r will fade into memory sooner than most classics because of its numbers and use during its life. i look at the new rsx, and i am glad i bought this car when i did. the interior, motor, everything about it breathes old-world sports car purity...to me at least

ok.. imagine about 20% of R owners are on this site.. 8 stolen from just us in the past week and a half. 8 times 5 (to get the rest of the R owners) = 40.
about 40 R's stolen in the last week and a half.. thats averages out to about 100 R's stolen a month

Please accept my sympathies. That was how my 2000 R was stolen and then hauled 600miles to NYC where they found 'pieces' two weeks later.

I have a university in my town and apparently the theives employ 'spotters'.

Apparently they scooped it up in the night on a flatbed or in a truck (neighbor heard 'truck ramp noise'in the middle of the night). Any idea how they tookyours? It might help the rest of us protect our own.

I do understand how you feel!

about 40 R's stolen in the last week and a half.. thats averages out to about 100 R's stolen a month

100/month * 12 months = 1200/year.
around 4000 ITR sent to northamerica / 1200 stolen per year = 3years and 4 months until the last ITR is stolen.

Jonas - that sounds a little extreme. Ever think that maybe the thieves are tracing our IP addresses, and that is why we see such a huge amount of Honda-Techers cars being stolen?

Can't be done. You can only trace a IP address back to the physical address of the internet host that owns the IP address.

All the piece of **** hybrid owners who grab stolen ****, I will hunt you down and grab more then just your car. See how it feels to touch someone elses property. Mother *****.

Guys, if you own an R you MUST own a beater as well, for those times you will not have you R in visibilty.
