so my crx (1990 CRX DX) will start just fine in the morning with no troubles. but late in the day, about the time i leave for work, my car wont start unless i sit there with the key turned to acc and wait until the check engine light goes away.

the guys at the shop i work at say that they have had the same problem with their crx's but no one ever know exactly what causes it.

any suggestions?

 

what do you mean it won't start? does it crank and not turn over?


is it cool in the morning and hot late in the day? and it cranks late in day just doesnt fire up? if this is how it is I would guess its you main relay. once they get old i don't think the like heat. i have not have this problem but ive read alot about it.

 

i read alot about the main relay also and had the main relay problem (just changed mine). would like to know if its hot in the middle of the day. also check the starter could be your problem. after changing my main relay i realized it was my starter. i definetly wouldnt get a checker starter though. honda dealership parts rule!

 

check the fuel pump relay same thing happend to my crx

 

its pretty much hot at any time during the day, but, sometimes it starts and other times it feels like im trying to start it without the clutch engaged. (it isnt that sensor for the clutch though)
