Default 205/60-15 in place of 185/65-15...

I need tires for my wife's 2002 Civic EX, and am tempted to go to 205/60-15 from the OEM 185/65-15.
Has anyone done this upgrade? Will they rub anywhere?
The diameter is very close between the two (+.5 MPH @ 60). The car came with the crappy Firestones that are almost down to the wear bar after only 25K. Looking at Fuzion HRi or Falken ZE-512's.
Thanks for any reply...
Mark

I think 205/55/15 would be better ...

I think the Ziex 512's are a very good buy. They do extraordinarily well in wet weather, and also perform credibly in the snow...and in dry warm weather they are also going to handle a lot better than you'd think a $50 tyre could ever perform.

However...they will get noisy on you as the miles rack up.

At 35,000 miles, mine were as noisy as Azenis, and I put some new tyres on the car well ahead of when the 512's were actually worn out.

Thanks... I'm pretty much set on the ZE-512's too, and Sears has 'em on sale.

As far as the size (thanks to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html );
205/55-15 will screw up my speedo by -1.4 mph VS. +.5 for 205/60-15. Actually, 215/55-15 is even closer(-.4 mph), but it's not a common size.

My main concern is will 205/60-15 fit.

On most Civics with most suspensions, yes.

I am currently using 205-50-16 P Zero Nero on 16x7 +45 wheels. I have also used 225-40-16 on those same wheels with no fitment issues.

I have a Mugen SS suspension.
