I'm looking into the factory system alarm thats availble for 96-00 Civics. This is an additional security alarm that I believe most civics do not come with standard. Its an optional acessorie add on. I found the Honda Install Instructions for it and its an easy plug and play with the factory security harness thats in all hx/ex/si models. The dx model needs to purchase the security harness.

Basic Info:

Security System

Genuine Honda Civic security system kit. Remote operation.

System status verification, door and trunk sensors, starter cut-off.

Sounds horn and flashes lights when triggered by door or trunk opening. Includes attachment kit.

-> HX and LX require addition of keyless entry remotes sold below. EX and Si use the stock remotes that came with the vehicle.

I'm just looking into this basic factory alarm thats easy to install and not too costly. It runs for about $60 + shipping which includes everything including the attachment kit to install with. I just wanted to see if anyone knew any info on this and if its worth the upgrade for some added protection. The important thing i see that can be useful is the starter kill. Which is better than nothing. Plus it is easy to install so no installation charge. I appreciate any help and info on this.
