Default Cut up the OEM CF HOOD... OOO NOOO!!

Well, my manifold sat too high and it started melting the fiberglass and cf portion too. I was getting irritated and it looked like ****. So I had a genious idea, why not cut it out. But since it was on one side I couldn't think of anyway to cut it. Until one day I raced an evo and beat him, and after seeing him behind me I was like OOO CHIT... Why not cut it like an evo hood?.... SO I did and this is how it turned out because of a really good friend who helped me.... tell me what you think!!!

Looks good, but

**** rain, what about snow?

I'm assuming large amounts of water landing on that piping will stress it due to rapid cooling and crack the welds....

the welds are guaranteed not to crack, so if it cracks I get it replaced or fixed for free... as far as snow, I will put stock hood back on when it snows. As far as for rain, i still have the cf parts i cut out and i always carry duck tape. So put the cf part on and close with duct tape. Shouldn't be bad

Can you go with a chicken mesh that is more tight, so you cant see as easy in? Would be better concealed. BTW< how do the stock evos hoods look? (must be sealed in a certain way..)

the stock evo hood is cut out just like that, but it has louvers underneath it to deflect water and stuff

Yknow rushdee, I got some DEI header wrap to go with my Neuspeed header, it's supposed to cut down on heat, haven't done it yet, but i've heard nothing about good things, supposed to cool down the engine a lot, and I bet it would make it safer to run an open hood like that, why don't you try that too?

Yeah I'm thinking about doing that because alot of heat is escaping from the manifold which is good to keep the bay cool but the heat isn't staying inside the manifold so there is a little bit of power loss. I'll probably heat wrap it once I start building the engine. It should turn out decent
