PM7 is a DOHC ZC ECU. It's always a toss-up wether or not a DOHC ECU will work on a SOHC. The fuel map is too different. It'll either run rich or lean... one thing is for sure, it won't run right.
If you just want to see if the car will fire (ignite fuel just to make sure you're getting spark AND fuel) that's fine, nothing wrong with it, don't expect it to stay running or drive it like that. But it'll probably fire if you think the PM6 ECU is the problem.

thanks niko, the current PM6 is having issues and local 4th gen owner has extra PM7 that for sale and is the only thing availabe for me to use current PM6 is throwing invalid codes and car is runing inconsistent at best. I will have to park the car until i can save the 125.00 for good PM6, at least that is what they want for one her in Atlanta.

Thanks again.

hey man, you should check ebay for the pm6, i picked up a perfectly fine ecu for 20 bucks. just make sure the seller has good feedback, no reason to spend 125 on something you can get for a fraction of that.

will do, I bought this current problem child ecu off ebay from some dufus that painted it blue and its a mess. Looks like paint may be on connection terminals. would this cause ecu to throw codes??

ive used obdo pr4 and pg7 ecus, which are both dohc ecus and have worked perfectly fine. user bserieskiller uses a b16 ecu with his z6.
