i was wondering how long a ripped cv joint can last if driven on. both joints are rip on mine on the driver side cv. i was wondering if i would be able to race at the track tonight with it broken like this. they dont click or anything they juist get grease all over the place.

... You're a moron.
DO NOT drive on a ripped CV joint. If it's ripped, you need to replace ASAP. It doesn't matter if it's clicking or not, DO NOT drive on it.

u can drive for a long time with cracked boots. BUT once its cracked and u start getting sand in it, the sand acts like a sand paper grinding away the bearings. go to advanced auto and they have axles for $50 each with core. they come with life time warranty. i actually work for a honda dealer in brainerd MN and live by OEM but for axles, id just go with after market. i break way too many axles doing 1/4 miles to be buying OEM ones.
