Default Skunk2 vs Tein

Hi everyone, I am getting new suspension and I want to know which do you prefer? The Skunk2 coilover suspension or the Tein Basic coilovers? Feel free to add your own preference of coilovers into the poll.

I dont know about the Tein's but I have the Skunk2's on my hatch. They are a pretty nice ride, I have it slammed right now and it is a little bouncy sometimes. But other then that its a nice ride.

Tein > Skunk 2

The Skunk 2 springs and coilovers are very rough if you are trying to use them with stock shocks and struts. For that instance, whenever chaning out coilovers or springs you should get aftermarket shocks, etc.

plus Skunk 2 hates honda owners -

Ugh, Omni's don't really inspire any confidence in me either.

Tein isn't that great. The basics are overpriced, non adjustable peices of crap. The SS's are decent, but still not as good as a yellow/custom GC setup, and are more expensive.

Skunk2 blows unless you want your car to ride like a shopping cart.

teins ride great and handle well. alot of of your handling comes from tires though too so remember that. get some azenis or r compounds and then see how well it handles.

Depending on which Skunk2 coil overs you're talking about. If you're talking about the full sleeve coil overs as opposed to their regular coil over line that has been out for quite some time then that's an entirely different story.

For the latter, I'd go with the Teins over the Skunk2s. For the former, I'm not very sure.

The entry level Tein are crap and overprice. You are buying just the name brand.

I Have CUSCO COMP S they are much similar to tein basics in the sense there the cheapest JDM coilovers you can buy. i had skunks. lets just say they are better at designing go fast parts then they are at sticking the tires to the ground part. buy suspension from companies that only do suspension. because obviously thats what they think there the best a producing. so i recommend either JIC MAGICS, TEIN, TANABE, CUSCO, OMNIPOWER, HKS, TODA, SILKROAD,SPOON, MUGEN, APEX-I, PROGRESS, and H&R.

You drop more company names than a show car.

You should really narrow it down there..

As for the poster, it really depends on which skunk2 part and which tein part you are asking about..

It depends on what you want to do with it. For a street car just get the Teins, they will give you a nice ride. I use the uber-stiff Skunk2 coilover sleeves on Koni Yellows and the ride is brutal, but that's how I like it, and I got them dirt-cheap off of some guy who put them on stock shocks and thought they sucked, so he bought the Teins and we are both happy now. If you plan on racing the car at a track, the Ground Controls over Koni Yellows is a proven budget combination.
