Default Wheel Size

How big of a difference is it to move up to a 17" wheel? I had a guy offer me a set with new michelin* z-rated tires(the ones with the v-tread) for my GSR wheels and $200 dollars. I dont know the brand of wheel but they are a five star with studs around the outside. They look real good and I am going to need new tires soon anyway. Im just worried about the weight I picked one up and I know it is havier then mine but am I going to notice a big difference????
I know that the GSR wheels are hard to find. Any feedback is appreciated

Thanks

With 17's you might have rubbing problems. IMO 16 are better if you really dont want to keep the stocks..

Dont ever do a deal you arent absolutely sure of, that involves geting rid of the stocks.. keep them!

Oh.. and not only is it heavier, the weight is farther away from the center, so.. yea, you could feel a difference...

Its not that I dont want to keep the stocks its just I thought about getting new rims one day. Then this guy said something to me about mine and it made me start to think. but I didnt think about the scrubing problem good point especialy since I am planning on dropping it

scrubbing won't occur until dropped.. then it really depends on tire size you select. The 17" rim will look good (assuming you pick out a nice set ) but you're wheel gap will be more noticeable. You will be a lil slower as others have mentioned. Handling will be much more precise assuming your suspension isn't shot.

Won't you only have rubbing issues if you then buy a tire size which does not follow the plus sizing concept? I just purchased a set of 17's but when I did the math for the 17s and the 205/40/17 tires, there's like a two millimeter difference in the diameter versus the stock diameter. So if I'm not having rubbing issues now, why would I have them with the new tires, anyway I'll find out tomorrow when they get installed. (if fedex delivers them tomorrow that is...)

with the pro-kit you probably won't rub. i rub with the sportlines, but they are lower than the pro kits... and i also have the front springs on the lower perches of my koni's... i think that's 25mm lower than it would be if i was using stock heigh perch or stock shocks.

I looked at them again today and they are KATANAS I dont know what model I set one by my car and it was taller. I asked him if I could ride on them a day and he said he had someone who wanted to look at them tomorrow so I told him I wanted to see how they rode first then then I would decide. I told him to call me back
but I decided not to do it. Im trying to stick with my stock sleeper theme
