Default Tirerack now shows the new Kumho Ecsta MX tires

Just notice the tires are out. $84 in 205-50-15. Max performance. Special order from Indiana only. Barely any info on the site.

So who's gonna try them out to see if they're Azenis killers? Anybody in STS?

Well, considering someone with Bridgestone Potenza RE71s won STS last year, you could say they've already been killed

Any idea what sizes they'll be in, other than 205/50/15s? If they come in 14s, I'll give them a look.

Nice. I'm in the market for new summer treads.
The North American Kumho site seems to be down, and I can't find anything about these mysterious tires on the Kumho Korea and Australia sites, or anywhere on the web for that matter.

Wow that's way more then the 25% above the 712s they told me about in an email a few weeks back. That must be inflated by tirerack till they get their final price which should be in the mid $70s, at least I hope it will be?

I have to check the local Discount Tire to see if they have a price on them too since the web site doesn't have a listing for them. Sadly the Falken Azenis are now $70 for the 205/50-15 at Discount now. $10 more per tire then they were just 2 months ago.........

hmmm very interested... but what am I missing, I don't see them on tirerack.com under the kumho section. where where?

edit: n/m: they only show up when you start a search by size and stuff, not if you go to "browse by brand"

cool.

I like how they show off their tire on a 48 pound chrome bling bling "dub's minus 5" wheel

drive safe,

In other Kumho news, just got my Car&Driver and saw on the Tirerack ad the Kumho STX. Right now, there's only 20"+.

Well, i hate to say it but with Kuhmo tires that isnt going to get you anywhere.... they'll show up when they show up. Even the azenis are backordered...

I dont feel like waiting anymore for them.

I didnt explain myself, I dont feel like waiting for my Azeinas anymore, which are on backorder. This sucks, Im getting Konig Greenlights on Wed. and will not be able to get tires. HMMMM Im not happy. What about different size than 205/50/15. I ordered a 15x6.5 rim. Could I plus size to make either one available or is that a pipe dream. I already know plus sizing will probably make it harder to get these in but I figured I would ask.

According (heh, I love that word) to http://www.kumhousa.com/pages/pass_uhp_mx.htm only 205/50 will be available in a 15" diameter. Anyways, 205 is about as wide as you want to go on a 6.5" wide wheel. A 225 will squeeze on there, but the sidewalls bow-in and you don't get an ideal contact area and do get weird wear and tricky handling.

They're not available yet. Kuhmo is sketchy on availability details and release dates. I would call Tire Rack and see if they have any info for you beyond this. If not, there are plenty of other good street tires to choose from in the 205/50/15 size. The guys at Tire Rack should be able to point you in the right direction, they are *very* knowledgeable.
