Default Another Sprocket question, searched.

I have a 2003 F4i as you most know.

I wanted to swap out the F&R sprockets with the RK Q/A Chain and sprocket kit...

It comes with 15/46 sprockets (-1/0) and a 520 chain...

Do these three things just swap out perfectly with the stock sprockets and chain? If so I want to buy the kit.. but if it's going to be a PITA to install I will just pass..

Thanks for the help.

If its a kit and it is compatable with your bike (which it most likely is) then yes it will just replace the stock parts . If you have a service manual and some basic tools you should be able to do the swap yourself no problem.

If you're swapping the 520 conversion (chain, sprockets) out for stock, everything is bolt on. If you just want stock gearing, it'll be cheaper to just get a stock size front sprocket (not to mention less work). Remember to torque everything

you need someone to fit the chain properly with the correct amount of links for your sprocket sizes... and not sure if hondas use cilp or rivet style master, but suzukis like myne use rivet.. and they are better i think.. good luck

Im just curious to why you would go back to stock if your bike is already -1 in the front...

The bike is going to FEEL quite a bit slower if you go back to stock, plus it won't come up as easily in second gear now....hehe...

Okay so can I do this myself or do I need someone to fit the chain on the sprockets correctly? Im pretty sure my owners manual goes over how much tq. to use on the sprockets but anyone know off hand how much tq. is needed for a 03 F4i?

EDIT: Oh, and do I need a rear stand to do this???

AND: What all needs to be removed? Stock chain guard...front sprocket guard...what else??

Yes, you'll need a rear stand, the rear tire has to come off.

I put the same kit on my 99' 900RR and it was like having a bike I would strongly recommend it. Its not hard to install it, do the work yourself

sounds like you don't know too much about the maintenance of your bike.. i would take it somewhere to do the work.. you need a rear stand, the rear wheel has to come off.. the front sprocket cover has to come off, the chain needs to be broken, and the new chain needs to be pinned together....

I'm trying to play it safe rather than NOT ask and **** something up.
