What tire and tire size for 14inch wheels?
what would be a good preformance tire, and what size should I go with. This is going on a daily driver and I would like to not have to change the tires offten
What year, model, and version car are they going on? How will you use this car on these tires? Daily driving? Track use? Warm weather, rain, snow and ice? How much do you care about performance? What about price and treadlife? Would you trade off some performance for a tire that costs less or lasts longer?

This will be going on my 89 civic hatchback. The car is lowered, but not with high quality suspension components so they will be used mainly for daily driving. I do live in the mountians though so I want something that can preform decent. Price isn't really a big factor, but something cheaper would be nice. I have a set of o.z. 14" wheels i got for free but i'm not sure what tire size is best. they had 185/65/14 i believe but I wanted something it a little smaller sidewall. hope this helps, thanks again
The Yokohama Avid H4S in a 185/60/14 size would be a good choice. Good balance between performance, treadlife and ride comfort. They are $47 each plus shipping if you are interested. You can read about them here:

I agree with Clay. The 185/60-14 would be a good size, and a tire in the Tire Rack's "High Performance All-Season" category will be suitable for dealing with snow in winter as well as summer performance. In addition to the Yokohama Avid H4S for $47, other similar tires also worth considering in this size include the BFGoodrich Traction T/A H ($56) and the Bridgestone Potenza G009 ($59).

Yes. But it really depends on the car you have and the tire you have. It's not that a 60 series tire (in general) is a good size (for any car); it's that 185/60-14 is a good size for an '89 Civic hatchback with 14" wheels.
