cost of regular h23 rebuild
my engine blew up two weeks ago, and all the oil was all over the place, so i'm guessing there's a hole in the block or oil pan somewhere? i had just hydrolocked my motor and got it finally funning, some valves were stuck and one of them must have been chewed up by the engine? Anyway, I dont know if either the head or block of my prelude's h23 is good, so what's the best thing to do in this situation? i will be purchasing a 91 mr2 that i am getting a good deal on for my transportation, but i have a max of 1G i can spend on that prelude... any ideas? I wanna try to keep the cost of fixing the prelude to a minimum.......
buy a new long block fron hmotorsonline.com and don't bother rebuilding the old motor. A h23 from them is $950 and a h22 is around $1200. They only have 30,000 miles and it seems well worth it.
im selling my h23 soon
it has alot of miles on it but wont matter if your going to rebuild it.
But its still running strong.
it has 190k miles
