What is the difference between h22a1 and f22a1 axles?

I'm probably gonna be called to task for this, but I've been led to believe it's more Transmission / Chassis considerations which makes the difference in axles (length).
I'm not aware of any strength, or materiel differences with regards to different Honda axles.
I have heard (on other forums) that they have some durability issues (weak tripot and CV joints), but have yet not seen any difinitive recommendations as to "use this one for this, use this one for that etc etc etc"

It's a subject worth discussing since it could be one less weak link to getting horsepower to the ground.
