'93 Civic Distributor Problem *please help!*
Well I've had the same problem for a while now with my '93 1.5L 5 speed manual Civic where as the rpms get high up when it is time to shift up the engine sounds like its getting choked. I've also been having problems getting the car started. When the distributor is moved around, nothing happens at all. Took it to the mechanic, he said it was the distributor... of course. Well I'm not really ready to fork out 400 bones for a new distributor, so i was wondering if I could replace things inside the distributor like the sensor. i took a picture of a crack in one part, I'm not sure what it is. any help would be great...
Honda sells everything seperately; cap, rotor, igniter, coil, sub-assembly, etc..
EDIT: I don't believe the cracked part is available seperate from the sub-assembly because I think it might wired directly to it (no clips or connectors). Buy a used one from here or locally.
