Default Please define "muffled vehicle"

This is for events designated for "muffled vehicles".

I am assuming as long as the vehicle has a muffler installed, it is deemed to be legal. Correct?

I've been reading the e-town rules and 05 NHRA sport compact rulebook. E-town pretty much requires a muffler to keep decibels low for saturday events, but the NHRA book has pretty specific requirements per class.

For an ET bracket racer...Does a muffler have to be visible and stick out of the rear of the vehicle?

I am planning to run a glasspack muffler a few inches after the header...with a turn down tip to keep gases away from both the driver and the fuel tank. Will this be a legal NHRA muffled setup?
