I was sitting at a light in my EK4, and a drunk driver, illegal immigrant with nothing...hit me from behind going 50. His car weighed 2x my car.

I think my car is gone.

When the guy gets released from jail today probably, it makes me think how absolutely "F*&CKED" our whole legal system is.

That guy should do 10 years. You drink and drive, you need to get put away. If my 7 month old boy was in the back seat, and he would have hurt him, I probably would have killed him right there before the cops came.

The guy wouldn't get out of the car, with me outside it...pulling at the door...

Please folk's...don't let friends drive drunk and don't drink and drive.

Our families need your support. All of our families. No need for senseless hurt.

Damn our legal system is screwed. The guy just gets off scott free and my insurance company fits the bill.

total BS.

feel ya on that one, got hit by a drunk guy 3 years ago, we were at a stoplight riding in my buddy's car when a drunk guy hit us going about 50 mph, push us across the intersection and luckily there were no cars zooming by or else i wouldnt be here today. Even though the circumstances are bad, at least everyone was ok including you

 

Well...a new car...

they give you like low blue book on it. And that doesn't take into consideration the $1500 taxes I paid to buy it...

so basically, I lose money. And since they don't even make those cars anymore, I can't buy a new one.

That car is a collectors item. 00 Civic Hatch, WHITE.

The last "good" hatch ever made.

you do **** like that in Saudi Arabia or countries in east, you get held in jail until you pay off your debt. Even if it takes forever.

find out where he lives and run over his house with a bus. 1. it gets rid of him 2. itll feel good 3. it will rid our country of at least 20-30 more illegals in a yr or 2 (if ya get my drift; hint: ____ like rabbits)

 

Sorry to hear about that Jeff and glad you weren't seriously hurt. It's good the rest of your family wasn't in there with you. I saw 2 people die within 3 weeks of each other due to drinking and driving, it just boggles my mind how ignorant some people are. I also hate to see the parents driving their kids around in the vehicle unbuckled and jumping from front to back while driving around at 50+ mph! What's even worse is when I see a mother who weighs like 250 pounds and she's holding her baby in her lap and she doesn't have a seat belt on. I don't think see realizes that if she was in an accident at only 20mph and came to a full stop within a 1/2 second she'd exert a force of 7+ Gs or about 1800 pounds against the dash board and where would her baby be?

so sorry to hear the bad news, but AT LEAST you were 'just' rear ended, imagine if he t-boned you.. you wouldnt be here now... so at least its only a material item loss, and at least he didnt smoke the front end of your car, where I am sure resides a precious motor, etc.

I fuggin HATE drunk drivers... I never drank, never drink and never will drink. I think drunk drivers that cause accidents like this or even worse should be sentenced to death by being run over and over and over and over.

yeah Dave...the impact was SO STRONG..

I got bruises on my chest from seat belt, and when I hit the car in front, my hand flew back toward me with such force, I cut open my head with MY OWN HAND.

And the seat broke, at the reclining part. I figure it felt like a good 2500 lbs of force I was laying on that seat. 7g's or more.

I honestly have to say, no matter what, I was getting tossed around like a sand in the wind.

There was a guy at the place I worked years ago who drove a Lumina and he was hit like you from the rear and the seat ripped out of the floor and he ended up looking at the roof of the car when it was over, luckily no one was sitting in the back seat.

 

Sorry to hear Jeff. Be glad that you could walk away from this with only anger for the other guy and no serious injuries to speak of.

besides what i said earlier i would definitely go in for massage therapy or similar therapy. NOTHING and i mean NOTHING ($$$$$) can replace the body u have (ie neck, back) i dont know first hand but my gf is runnin at a plump (sarcastic) 104lbs and she got rearended by her friend, needless to say, her neck and back r always sore. settlement still pending and 2 therapy sessions a week isnt helping. o yeah, she just read what i wrote she said to add "that was 2 yrs ago".

 

Ain't that a **** sandwich?! Focker! I would have punched his lights out before the cops came. Drunk drivers are the worst scum of the earth.

Ben from A&J Racing (AJPwr on this board) got hit head-on in his really sweet Spoon EK a couple of days ago here in Vancouver. The guy ran away from the scene of the accident - but the police dogs tracked him down a bit later! Ben is doing ok - I saw him today - busted up and sore - but no severe injuries.

Sorry for your loss.

jesus christ! the man doesnt deserve the death penalty! He does deserve a few good years behind bars though... sorry to hear your loss.

 

Who said anything about the death penalty?

I just think they need a good electro-shocking to fry the message into their brain that drinking and driving is a no no.

I think if mandatory electric shocking or caning or testicular smashing was a penalty - then less people would do it.

The reason they drink and drive is that the penalties are not severe enough.

 

Sorry to hear that, sounds like you were slightly injured and will probably be sore tomorrow or next day. If it were me, I would see a lawyer. Your insurance is going to go up because you were in an accident, even though it wasnt your fault. You could sue your own insurance for pain and suffering since they will screw you on taxs and not paying what the car is worth (performance parts). Let them go after that ******* and at least you could recoup some money down the road. Ill probably get flamed by someone that thinks this is why everyones insurance is high. Neither myself or anyone on this board can change the world, but we all pay our insurance premiums faithfully, so then use it. Maybe my attitude is wrong, but thats the way I feel. Thank god first your allright, then take care of your **** cause no one out there will, especially insurance companies! Good luck and hope all is well in the future for you. Damn dude that sux! I just got your email. Its glad to hear you werent hurt. Was anything from the car salvageable? Hope you dont get the **** end of the deal.

And yea...the guy will get outta jail as soon as the judge can see him and he can post bail. People like that should just be beaten. If there were kids in the car they wouldve killed someone. Stronger penalties should be taken against people like this!

That reminds me...a few weeks ago, a young coworker of mine suddenly came up with a comment that "They should raise the legal blood alchohol limit. You should be able to drive after a few beers." WTF? I was horrified. I can only hope that he doesn't do anything stupid and hurt himself or others.
