Default just restored a 95 teg and brought her back to life.....

so heres the story. I drive a teg and my cousin started liking em a lot. So he bought a stripped 95 Rs from an auction for 600 bucks. It only needed an engine/tranny, and interior. So he asked if i would help him bring it back to life and i said sure because i had done this before. So he found a crashed gsr from http://www.cars.com for 3k and we swapped out everything from the gsr to the rs. Whole swap with wiring took us 3 days. Finally got to drive it 3 days ago and man that thing is quick. Ran it against a stock gsr and it gains about a car length on it. Oh and theres no a/c on my cousins car. Will upload some pics of the car before and after. Want to make the car a lil bit quicker, is it worth installing a b16 tranny instead of the stock gsr tranny.

the b16 tranny will definitely gain you some acceleration, but it will **** you off on the freeway.

rs has no sunroof, abs, pw, pl, no cruise, no nothing. so you lose a few pounds pick up a little acceleration. my old roommate says his prelude S handled noticeably better than his si because of all the extra **** on it. he says he can feel the weight. by the way this guy took 1st in h-stock a few seasons ago, back when he was racing, so i think he would know.

How can that be a swap? I thought that was just restoring a engine in a integra that has nothing. I pretty sure if a gsr has nothing and just the motor it will be fast also because it has a better suspension than a RS.

Maybe he only worked on it for a short period each day. I highly doubt it took him all three days working steady at it. I know he said he has done this once before so he has some experience. Not saying he is bad but not all of us are bad *** like you<--- Hense the sarcasm. Anyway, can't wait to see some pics or timeslips.

What is the point of coming in here and saying that? What are you gaining by saying he's slower at swapping a motor than you are? Would you like a gold star? How about a cookie.... No? Then get the **** out.

Back to the actual topic of this thread, good job on the restoration, hopefully you took some before pics too?

ya, but changing the ENTIRE harness takes a lot more work, not to mention door panals, carpet, center consol, all your meters, air, etc. 3 days is about average to turn a completely gutted car into a stock looking car.
