Default 2000 929 on a 87 frame.... wtf???

so I'm looking for a new bike cause I recently sold my old one. well anyways I came across a bike online that is listed as a 87 cbr... BUT he says they took a 2000 929 and put on the frame of an 87 cbr.... wtf looks clean and he isn't asking much. says it runs and everything... I'm curious cause as to how much of a difference there'd be between the two... I mean really I'd imagine that if the frame was similar and all 929 parts were used that it'd be basically the same as your normal 929... also wtf would that be titled as? I guess an 87 cbr but insurance would have fun with that. lol

waste of money in my opinion... bikes have come so far from 2000, yet alone 1987, frame geometry, suspensions, etc etc... if you just wanted to putt around or stunt it, i suppose it would be ok.. ur insurance would be cheaper.. but the problem with pieced together bikes, is they are just that.... new bikes go through rigorous tests, balancing.... i'd be nervous about it being out of balance, not put together well....... its a risk you have to be wiling to take.. do you trust somebody elses rigged up job at 80 mph... i dont think i would....

check ron ayers schematics to view the differences in frames.... its night and day

oh I'm not saying I'd buy it. I just thought it was weird... and was trying to find out the differences of it all. Also not trusting questionable stuff on a bike is the main reason I stay far far away from salvaged bikes... unless of course it's obviously not the frame.
