03 auto v6 tranny fit 98 v6 accord?
Does anyone know if an 03 accord v6 tranny will bolt up to the 98 accord v6? My 98 accord v6 tranny went out and a buddie of mine just happened to have an 03 v6 accord tranny forsale. will it fit, i searched but got nothing. any help will be fine. thanx.
The K-series is in a whole different league than the J-series.
If I were you, I'd contact Honda, and ask about replacing the tranny. Usually, they'll replace the tranny for free, but you just pay the labor, which varies from each dealership.
Or you can do the CL-S 6-speed swap.
Honda auto trannies are garbage, anyway.

UHHH.....The 03 V6 is still a J-series (J30a4) engine. The tranny will NOT bolt up to it and if you are able to get it to. You would still need some way to control the 5-speed auto instead of a 4-speed auto. Now if you are talking about the 03 6-speed, I think a few people from V6P.net have tried to start this, but decided that the CL-S was the easiest route (If I remember right the bellhousings are different). Also good luck getting them to replace a 1998 tranny for free....I tried but got nowhere. If you had an 01-03 they might consider it.
As for the swap, the CL-S is still the best bang for the buck, but it runs around 5-6k after all the parts and labor. For about 2K less, you can get the Dr. Evil tranny, and this tranny will take up to 400hp (or so they say).

Their site is http://www.dreviltransmissions.com -- They don't specifically list thier tranny for the 6th gen Accord, so you will have to call them to get a price.

Odyssey has the J35 engine in it so the engine and tranny are different.

Everyone on V6P.net that has one, loves it. No complaints so far.
