Will not hurt anything. I made one for my car that is in the cluster and comes on just like any stock indicator. I just used a lable maker and a colored part from another cluster. it looks just like stock and you never know its there until vtec kicks in. It obviously does nothing but kill time for a couple of hours but at least it will keep you busy instead of posting goofy coments on HT like most of the ones above.
If the wire grounds against your firewall or something it can cause problems. If you do the install right though you'll be fine. I had one in my car for a while, I'm pretty convinced it helped my gas milage on the freeway, since it would "warn" me that I was in vtec. Then again, once I knew that 65-75 mph was my optimal range, the light became useless and was un-installx0red.
well just put in a spoon v-tec controller thats what i did and it has a cool little light that comes on when it hits. i guess you could buy one of those just for the light if you really felt like it.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I don't like the idea of lights on my instrument cluster coming on while driving. And why the hell do you need a damn light to tell you VTEC is on? So what, it's on. Whooopdy doo. It's not like you have to prepare for a gigantic increase in G forces and don your space suit.
I have a light that comes on with VTEC.
It's actually a dual stage shift light. There is a green light and a red light, right next to eachother on my steering column.
The green light comes on with VTEC, and the red light comes on at redline.
You can kind of see it in this picture, sitting on top of my steering column. (This is a REALLY old picture so excuse the VAFC! I was running the almighty AFC hack!! LoL)
