the resonator has to be bigger than the actual exhaust. its filled with sound deadening fibers...

i dont see how the resonator is smaller from this picture...
but yes, if its smaller than the it needs to be replaced.
go to a well known muffler shop and have them flange it in there...
its gonna cost you a few dollars to have it cut out and replaced.
if you're running 2.5" exhaust and you arent running high compression or boost, id get the whole exhaust switched to 2.25" and get a high flow cat...

well the reason i was worried is beacuse my friend informed me that the resonator he sold me had 2.25 piping on it, now when installed the guy told me that when he took the piping off it would be ok.
As for boost that will come soon.. my girfriend got a job which frees up my money for my car
