Default Caliper Siezed For a minute.

Yesterday, after making a u-turn infront traffic and flooring it down the street to not get hit. When i shifted to second the tires spun, and caused the front drivers caliper to partially sieze. The car still moved but you could feel the car shaking like crazy from the caliper being stuck on a slightly warped rotor. After pumping the brakes for 30 sec. or so it let go, and everything was fine again. Anyone know what could cause the caliper to stick like that?

Tires spinning isn't gonna make a caliper sieze. Were you on the brakes immediately beforehand? I think the tire spinning is a coincedence.

It has happened before to, the other time it happened was when I was practicing launching using a GTecH, so it definitly has something to do with the tires spinning.

Could possibly your axles/joints. As far as pumping your brakes, maybe it had nothing to do with it. Maybe it was the time itself that allowed everything to be back to normal.

Axle? Unless the axle somehow pops out of the trans slightly and then back in I don't see how that could cause the problem

Ball joints? Again i dont know how it could fail for a few minutes then go back to normal, plus they have all been changed within 10k km

I dont understand how it could be the brake caliper either but it seems the be the most possible cause at this moment.

Bump For more ideas.

Maybe your right and it is the brakes.

Take your caliper out and grease the slide pins.

Or at least do some investigating.

It happened again last night, did a lil neutral drag and it happened again. Drove around for 20 minutes wouldn't come loose stopped and pumped the brakes for a few seconds and everything was cool again.

Any Ideas?
